My Traditional Animation Journey
...has begun!
For Christmas, I got a sketchbook that looked a lot like a flipbook. Before that, I have said that traditional animation is basically not achievable for me, but now that I have the tools, I'm intrigued.

As a test for myself, I made this little rat animation:
I didn't use all the available space on the paper. That was a mistake. The flipbook isn't big - but once I figured out how to flip the pages to animate the details, I realised that drawing only on the far edge limits me severely.
So, yeah, this is small. Making it bigger next time.So I made it bi
Sounds of 2016
With year reviews all around the internet, I sadly couldn't find a playlist of noises for 2016. So I made my own, since I thought it would be nice to quiz my family on New Year's Eve on what it could be and why it's in the playlist. It wasn't easy, I wanted to have at least 10 items, but even with my listening to science podcast all year long, I had four to start with.
Maybe you'll enjoy this as much as I do, maybe you'll even find it interesting or quiz your own friends and family. I have saved the playlist on YouTube, but here's my more detailed explanation of the whole thing:LIGO Gravitational Wave Chirp
Arguably the most important scien
Do you like Xmas? Do you like interactive stories?
YOU HAVE TO SAVE CHRISTMAS!! By playing this interactive video. Try not to kill Santa. And - in case you're stuck - try some of that delicious Christmas rum chocolate. ;-)
Interactive stories on dA
Where can I find good ones?
I mean, ever since I've published my own interactive story, I kept thinking about this kind of text. It's really interesting and I'm wondering if someone happens to know any kind of interactive literature Deviation or something like that. You know, one that's actually good. Because despite my best efforts, the only one I could find was this one:
Poll Saga. It takes the interactivity aspect into another direction, the story is only temporarily interactive because people can vote what happens next. And since you're reading this, she needs more votes to advance the story, go vote on the poll! And +watch :iconmy-swo

Sorry for the several-days wait!
I finally got my half of our animation collaboration done!
Here's where I Sta.shed it!:

Her right hand that she has open should be the one with an ice spell in it. If the ice spell could be a little frozen ball in, or floating above her hand, that would be cool, but for the animation it needs to have some sort of frosty effect over it, like cold mist or something. The ball of ice doesn't have to be there though, but for this hand, the animation should be taking place in the space above her hand, ball or no ice ball. I didn't color her hand so you could leave it white or make it glowing white or blue. The glow doesn't need to be animated at all.
Her left hand that she has farther from her is the hand she has the fire spell in. This hand needs to be colored pink or bright red, and it needs some sort of fire effect animated over to of it so it looks like her hand's on fire. I was imagining like if you had a full blown flame, but took most of it away and only kept the outlines of the fire, to give a fiery effect, but I don't know what you would be imagining. Whatever effect you have that you can use, her left hand needs to look like it's on fire, with the effect right on her hand.
Is it possible for you to color the background a dark color? You can pick whichever color you want for it. I'm sure a dark colored background would make the frost effect show much better, and really improve the picture overall. Let me know if you would rather that I colored the background... Although I'd rather you do it if you could do it easily and you could pick the color you wanted or thought would work best.
When the collab is done, you should just post it in your Gallery so I can it, but I would also want to repost it in my Gallery too, and let everyone know it was a collaboration. I won't be posting it to any Groups, but I figure if we both put the image up it's like it's getting views both ways and we link to each other! No?
