Why do I have so little time nowadays!?
Anyway, I finally got to draw again.
This one is going to be the cover for this year's edition of a small magazine called "Die Leseratte": A collection of creative stories, activity reports, book recommendations, jokes and games by our youth group Lese- und Schreibwerkstatt. This time, it is entirely centred around the topic of ecology, energy and climate.
The drawing is meant to be symbolical. Our mascot is in the process of making the leap from an old light bulb to a more energy-efficient one to show that we are adapting to be more environment-friendly through everyday actions.
I realise that this kind of bulb is not the most environmentally sustainable source of light (LEDs have come a long way now), but its shape is more recognisable and in Europe, it is well associated with energy saving and sustainability because since 2009, low-efficiency light bulbs have been prohibited from being manufactured and sold.

Unlike with my symbolical drawing, I was able to instantly see the symbolism without color or title, and others did, too. And we all see the shading.
