The Lotus Family (animation test)

This is my entry for 's challenge of December. This month's theme was: family - something fitting well into this season and not fitting well into my repertoire of skills. Since the theme can be interpreted in any way, I made this!

Nelumbonaceae is a (botanic) family of flowering plants in the order Proteales. There are only two surviving species in this family:

• Nelumbo nucifera - the sacred lotus or the Indian lotus
• Nelumbo lutea - the American lotus or the yellow lotus

The purpose of this animation was to test out the limitations of ~fence-post's Animated Path Stroking script for the GIMP as well as of some macros. Both simplified the making of this, but they're not perfect. In some ways, they didn't meet my expectations. But I can work with that!
